Mayuge - Uganda 

 Above is Bishop Oburu Alphonce in his office at Sayuni Junior School in Mayuge. He has a big testimony from being a mere Sugarcane Cutter to a Director of the Ministry and the School.

God has done wonders in his life and has used him mightly to change lives in Mayuge District (Eastern Uganda) and other places where he has set foot.

Mustarded Seed Faith Ministry was began in December 2003 at Mayuge trading Centre. The Ministry was founded by Bishop Alphonce Oburu. He is a born of Tororo District born in 1969. He went to school up to Secondary and ended there at that time because of money. He later went to Bugerere Village in Mukono District to labour in people’s plantations for survival.

In 1990 he went to Kakira in Jinja District to cut Sugarcane at Madhavani Sugar Estates where it was Gods’ plan for him to get saved in 1992 after being preached to. He got filled with the Holy Spirit on 12^th April 1993 at 1:00 O’clock and he says it was such a wonderful moment for him.......

He got to serve in a Church in Kakira where he had gotten saved (Kakira Full Gospel Church) under Pastor Edward Nsubuga.

He got married in 1994 to Aculi Eseza with whom they have 6 children by now. He continued to serve in that church with his wife after marriage. In 1996, he was ordained as a deacon in that church after which he went to a Bible College at Glad Tidings Kampala Makerere.

In 1999, he moved to Iganga District to begin a Ministry. He set up a church and God blessed him with 15 people.

That church was invaded by Tabliqs in 2000 because of the Islamist movements in that town at the time. The church was destroyed scattering the believers.

Bishop Oburu then teamed up with another local Pastor called Pastor Perezi Were of Mission Harvest Ministry to serve with him

In 2003, the Lord spoke to him and his wife to leave Iganga to go and start a Ministry in Mayuge and a new site. A blessing was prayed over him by Pastor Perezi and he left.

Reaching that area, it was full of Muslims with a mosque within every square kilometer but with the grace of God, they settled in the area which was also surrounded by Prostitution, Witch doctors, Sorcerers, Orphans and widows ands also hit by HIV/AIDS scourge.

The church was started in power and it has now grown up to 160 believers. So many branch churches have been set up like in an areas of:

The ministry has also started a community school known as Sayuni Junior School, which is a community and Orphanage school with about 200 children 30 of which are orphans. The church is paying for and supporting these orphans, supplying scholastic materials and other needs. The school is directed by Bishop Oburu and his wife and other members of staff.
